Lonneke Kuysten graduated
at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1998.
Since then she works as a Figurative Artist and
Ceramic Designer in her own studio.

Lonneke has consiously chosen a combination of
an autonomous and a monumental way of working on one hand
and an applied working method on the other.

The interaction between designing and molding a statue,
combined with producing
offers her a variety of possibilities in creating.

This working method enables her to reach a broader audience,
by showing statues and designs to interested parties.

Lonneke Kuysten, as a Figurative artist, makes sculptures
inspired by a moment, memory or by looking at nature.

Creating is a process of observing, deliberating
and forming an idea into a sculpture.
By chosing to add or leave out a construction,
function, color or form.

Lonneke, as a Ceramic Designer makes functional objects,
either exclusively or in limited editions.
She also designs for companies as a freelancer.
This cooperation is aimed at the edition of serial products,
such as relational gifts.
